Goblins in Lustria week 5

I told you I need more artillery… What did I do though? Paint a bunch of Snotlings as unit fillers! They’re just too cute, I couldn’t resist. The bases are all a bit barren right now. I will change this in the future, I just don’t have grass here right now.

First off there are 22 real GW Snotlings. I have 18 bases full of those guys so I didn’t need them for that. There are some with spears, one with a bow and the others differ in their equipment. I think they can work pretty well in the regiments of Goblins already varying in size in my army.

These are a it of a collectors piece, and Grots rather than Snotlings, from the 40k range. there is however nothing technically advanced on them (other than a pair pliers the one in the middle has, if you think that is advanced…).

I bought these Black Scorpion Snotlings (review for Black Scorpion here) at Crisis 2019. They’re smaller than most Goblins but as you can see compared to the base are big enough to use as Goblins. They don’t have weapons. But with the heavy armor some of them sport I guess they won’t look out of place.

Some more Goblins I bought at Crisis, here are some old Harlequin Lesser Goblins. They have proper weapons and clothing. I like most of those models. While they are old and I got some original blisters, they should be available at Black Tree Design now, after a successful Kickstarter that included them. I like the little guys (and some have shields molded to them, hooray!)

Those Snotties have taken to the Jungle after stranding in Lustria and captured some fearsome beasts. The models are by Scotia Grendel, I have a review here. The howdahs are crammed shock full with Snotlings and as such I’ll use them either as Pump Wagons for Warhammer Fantasy or as Slashers for Kings of War. They have shooting weapons up there so it fits somehow. I mounted them on 50x75mm, so I can put them on adapters for 50x100mm and 75x75mm for use as both of these units. I’ll still have to build these adapters (or ask Warbases if they can build something like this for me, I think they don’t do custom stuff in the current period of time).

Continuing big I painted the Giant from Langley Models I recently bought (review here). The model doesn’t have a lot of details so it painted up really really fast. It’s fairly small for a Giant, but that’s fitting the old school style it conveys. This is one of the models where my lack of tufts and stuff at the moment really shows. I’m also thinking of decorating the tree trunk with a bit of foliage.

Above I have bolstered the regiment with the Sotlings and added the bigger stuff. While I initially failed at my goal to bolster the army with some hard hitting stuff, I at least added some of that in the monsters and giants. My army seems to be fairly melee focused right now, but that will change with the entry on the next week.
